Painting for me is a way to connect and express something that can't be verbalized. My work is inspired by nature but doesn't aim to reproduce it. Rather than depicting a scene, I try to capture the energy and share the feeling of standing inside it. Each painting is a unique expression of an experience — I discover how I'm feeling while painting, connecting to the moment. Through movement, energy, colour and brushwork, I invite viewers to step into that experience with me.

I have always painted what surrounds me. The land I grew up on — a pond, a lake, and forty acres of forest in Hampton, New Brunswick — has shaped my development as a person and an artist. As an adult I returned to this same place to raise my own family and paint what surrounds me again.
